About Fragola's
More Than Good Food
Fragola’s began in 2014 in the home of Tirzah Starnes, with a baby on her hip, a love for cooking, and a desire to help provide more for her family.
What started as one family-meal pickup each week quickly became something much bigger. Tirzah prepared her first meals from home, opened the doors for pickup—and sold out on the very first day. The following week, she made more. She added options, increased the quantity, and sold out again.
Before long, people weren't just asking what was on the menu next week. They were asking, “Do you cater?”
And just like that, another door opened.
From a Home Kitchen to Fragola's
Catering requests turned into events, celebrations, and opportunities to serve more people. Eventually, Fragola's moved from Tirzah's home into its own location in Del Rio, Texas, where she prepared catering orders and served weekly lunch specials for pickup.
What began as one meal a week grew into a business that became known throughout the community for food made with care, creativity, and quality.
Every dish tells a little piece of that journey. Some recipes have been passed down through family. Some are favorites Tirzah has recreated and made her own. Others simply started with an idea, a little imagination, and the question, “What if I tried this?”
But no matter where a recipe begins, the purpose behind it remains the same:
"To create a memorable experience through food".
Faith at the Heart of It All
Tirzah will be the first to tell you that the story of Fragola's isn't hers alone.
Her faith has been at the center of this journey from the beginning. Through every season—the uncertainty, the growth, the opportunities, and the challenges—she has trusted that God would provide and open the doors she was meant to walk through.
Over the years, Tirzah realized that food wasn't necessarily her calling.
Serving people was.
Food simply became the way God gave her to live out that calling.
That's why Fragola's is meant to be more than somewhere you stop for a good meal. It's a place to gather with family, meet a friend, celebrate something special, or simply sit down and stay awhile. It's a place where Tirzah will listen to you, pray for you, and pray with you.
For her, hospitality isn't just customer service.
It's ministry.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
Creating Memories Around the Table
That same purpose is at the heart of Fragola's catering.
Weddings. Birthdays. Family celebrations. Corporate gatherings. Some of life's most important moments happen with people gathered around food.
Tirzah never takes for granted what it means when someone chooses Fragola's to be part of one of those moments.
That's also why quality matters so much. Fragola's isn't about simply warming up food from a bag and putting it on a buffet. It's about preparing food with the same care and attention it deserves—because when you're serving someone's wedding, celebration, or special event, you're becoming a small part of a memory they may carry for the rest of their life.
The menu doesn't have to fit inside a box, either. Tell Tirzah what you're imagining, and she'll work to bring it to life.
A New Chapter in Tuscola
Today, Fragola's is beginning a new chapter in Tuscola, Texas, the hometown of Tirzah's husband, John Starnes, and a community where their family has deep roots.
For Tirzah, this isn't simply about opening another restaurant.
It's an opportunity to become part of a community—to serve its families, schools, churches, businesses, celebrations, and everyday moments.
Her family has been beside her throughout the journey as her biggest fans and supporters, but anyone who knows Fragola's knows where its heart comes from.
Tirzah is Fragola's.
Her recipes. Her creativity. Her standards. Her faith. Her decisions. Her love for people. And her desire to serve.
What began in 2014 with a baby on her hip and a few meals prepared from home has become something she could never have fully imagined that first day.
And yet, the heart behind it hasn't changed.
Serve people. Love people. Make incredible food. And trust God with the rest.
Welcome to Fragola's.
Come hungry. Leave with a memory.
